IPWatchdog Podcast with Matt Phillips

Matt Phillips is featured today on IPWatchdog Unleashed, the podcast conducted by IPWatchdog, a leading blog for IP professionals.  The topic of today’s podcast (season 3, episode 7) is “Reexamination vs. IPR:  Which is Better for Patent Owners?”  Matt’s answer is IPR.  The contrary view is presented by Kevin Greenleaf.  During their friendly debate, Matt and Kevin discuss the pros and cons of ex parte reexamination as compared to inter partes review (IPR) from the patent owner’s perspective.  As explained by Matt, “This is an important and timely topic as reexamination is, at the moment, increasingly popular as an alternative to IPRs in today’s PTO, which has drastically curtailed institutions of IPR trials in the last year.”
