L&P Client Obtains $25 Million Infringement Verdict Based on Patents Defended by L&P at PTAB

Laurence & Phillips IP Law (L&P) client Acorn Semi, LLC received a jury verdict that Samsung has infringed four Acorn patents relating to metal-semiconductor junction technology.  Eight claims across four patents were selected by Acorn for trial, and the jury found each one infringed.  The jury awarded $25 in infringement damages.

The four Acorn patents in the trial and others are presently the subject of seven IPR (inter partes review) trials at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) of the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.  L&P co-founder Matt Phillips is lead counsel for Acorn in the IPRs.  Acorn’s IPR team also includes L&P attorneys Kevin Laurence, Rachel Slade, and Derek Meeker as well as attorneys from two other firms.
