Laurence & Phillips IP Law (L&P) is pleased to announce that Derek Meeker has joined the firm.  Derek will continue his focus on patent prosecution and post-grant proceedings.

Derek was most recently a partner at Renaissance IP Law Group LLP, where he also worked with Matt Phillips on patent prosecution and post-grant proceedings.  Matt is thrilled to work with Derek again because “he is a creative problem solver with excellent technical abilities who rapidly understands complex technologies.”  Matt, who has known Derek since they served together in the leadership of the Oregon Patent Law Association (OPLA) over 12 years ago, added that “Derek has a rare gift for spotting subtle patentability-affecting issues in complex cases involving sophisticated technology and developing that insight into persuasive arguments for or against patentability, when everyone else in the room has overlooked those issues.”   Kevin Laurence, who also previously worked with Derek, commented that “Derek is an all-star addition to our firm.”
